Mercury has recently successfully completed a contract with one of the largest unitary authorities in the country.
Andrew Acum, one of our senior consultants, first approached East Riding of Yorkshire Council about the potential of the company being able to offer its expertise, after seeing a temporary communications post advertised for maternity cover in the Beverley-based authority’s press office.
When the council failed to find a suitable candidate for the role, which not only involved managing the press office but also taking on director level communications responsibilities, Andrew submitted a proposal which was accepted by the council. The contract was taken forward on a rolling month-by-month basis between July and December with Andrew providing interim management support.
Now, after completing his secondment at the council, Andrew has been highly praised by the council for the work he carried out and he is proud of his achievements there.
Andrew said: “The contract was very successful, the council was able to run its communications function seamlessly and I was able to effectively cover the role of two people during my time with the authority.”
